Licence

Radarx is source-available under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0. You may use, copy and modify it for noncommercial purposes. Commercial use is not permitted without a separate written licence from the copyright holder; commercial licensing has not been announced yet. The licence text is what governs; this page only summarises it.

Account

A free account is required to use the Radarx app. What the account collects is described in the privacy notice.

What Radarx is for

Radarx is a research visualisation tool. It is not a forecast tool and not a warning tool. Do not use it as the basis for safety decisions; for warnings, follow your national weather service. Retrieved, interpolated, modelled and stylised pictures are labelled as such in the app and are not measurements.

Third-party material

The app builds on third-party software, fonts, colour maps, data and imagery, each under its own terms, listed in the project's third-party notices file (THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md). One optional layer, the Sentinel-2 cloudless imagery, is itself noncommercial (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).

Installers

The installers are not yet code-signed, so macOS and Windows show a warning when you first open them. The macOS builds are the tested platform; the Windows and Linux builds are experimental and have not been tested by hand.
